My kids

My kids, 24 and 3, the most wonderful kids I could imagine. One is starting his life on his own and the other is just starting her life. It is a unique perspective to begin raising a child after the first one is already grown. We cherish the opportunity, to improve ourselves and give them the best we have to offer. I spent a wonderful day in Boston at Christmas time with them. Together for the day, a rare opportunity that will be cherished. My son is living his dream. I don't think I can say I know anyone else who has followed their dream, without giving up, since 6 years old and achieved it! He is amazing, an inspiration, I am so proud. We will miss him as he follows his dream to the skies...as he becomes a pilot for the USMC. There is more, he has chosen a wonderful wife. The girl who was his best friend in college. I hope I do as well with my amazing little girl. I think we will, she has a great role model and is surrounded by a wonderful tribe of unschooling friends. Here are some memories of that special day.

Like her brother, she is tired of my endless picture taking...someday they will appreciate it :)

These two photos describe them perfectly...One studying and one dancing to the beat of her own drum!

A wonderful big bro plays Ring Around the Rosie in the middle of Boston and makes his little sister sooooo happy!

Work out

Scout gets a clean bill of health back in Boston. In between follow up appointments we played in the park.

Climbing onto the bars.

"Let go Daddy! I can do it myself"

Hanging tough!

"This is getting harder but I'm still hanging on....don't look at Daddy's nails!"

She finally has to tap out...but not after a great work-out!!

Boston

Zach, Sam, Scout and I went into Boston for the day. We took the subway in, Scout's first ride on the train. We journeyed in to visit the aquarium and it was Marine week and Zach wanted to visit. Scout enjoyed herself at the aquarium, of course, her favorite sight was looking at the floor lighting along the ramp that takes you up and around the giant tank!

We walked across town to the Constitution, stopping at the farmers market and Quincy Market along the way. Scout stole the show on the Constitution when she decided to take a "phone call" right next to the poor seaman trying to give a lecture to our group.

Scout needed a little run time before getting back on the train so we headed over to the park. This was her first experience with such a big playground and so many kids all in one spot. She climbed a little, observed the chaos a little and then went in search of treasures.

Reaching for a treasure...flower petals.

Scout stealing the show!

All smiles at the aquarium.

Boston

We spent St Patricks day together in Boston. It is a special treat when we all get to be together! We went to the Science museum, Maggiano's for lunch, the childrens museum and finished off with the Lion King. Scout slept for most of the next day!

The whole family!

Scout enjoying the bubble room at the childrens museum.

Climbing her first cargo net..she loves to climb.

Getting a smooch from her big brother and sharing Sam's water.

This was our first time here. It was so much fun we plan on visiting frequently. This is the water room.
