Zach's demo and banquet

Zach had his St Michaels FD demo and banquet last weekend. It was the 40th anniversary of the St Mikes FD, which has always been staffed entirely by ther students. Zach is the outgoing Captain, which is the highest ranking student position.
Scout and Daddy listening to the speeches at the banquet.

Scout went out on the dance floor after dinner. She stayed out there for at least 30 minutes dancing away!

Zach gave a speech as he introduced the new Captain. His speech was very impressive, we are very proud of the man he has become.

Zach and his girlfriend Sam, also a graduating senior and on the FD. We are so happy for Zach to have such a wonderful girlfriend. They have been friends for a 4 years and that is the best way to start a relationship. Sam was one of Zach's friends who helped run our wedding so smoothly.

Scout was ready for dinner, the bracelet was substituting while she waited. She is always so good, even though she was very hungry she still hung in there.

A car was set on fire for the demo. Zach is driving the fire truck in the background.

Zach is not allowed to do a lot yet, but he is healed enough to be able to drive the truck and run the pump.

Dance yoga

Today we went to Scout's dance yoga class held next door at the breast feeding center. She really enjoys this class because they are moving all the time and music is always playing.

Here she is walking to class.

Nature girl

I always love the nature girl shots. We spend so much time outdoors, thats where we all like to be.

Scout visiting Satinka. If we are working up by the barn she will always, at some point, decide to take a walk down to visit the horses and chickens. As soon as she gets to the gate she waves her hand and yells "HI" to the horses.

Filling up the horses water. Scout is a good chore helper.

Visiting the chickens taking a dust bath.

Playing in the barn with the chickens. Some of them like to come here to lay their eggs.

Easter fun

Our Easter egg hunt party was a great success!! The weather was beautiful, our friends and family were here and we all had a great time.

Tonto is always a big hit no matter what the event. Rachel gave Scout a ride through the woods.

There were over 20 dozen eggs hidden all throughout the trails behind the house. This trail was just for the little guys.

Auntie Leesea is checking out Scout's eggs.

Nic brings Tonto out. Tonto is such a good girl with the kids.

But...Nic's favorite was this chicken!

We had a pinata...grown-ups have to play too!!!

Leesea and Rachel showing off their loot! Leesea won the scavenger hunt too. She had to find.... 2 kinds of birds, a pine cone, the bark and a leaf from the same tree, a chipmunk or mouse acorn stash AND both coyote dens. She rocked it and scored a chocolate orange!

Jill and Hana looking goood!

Auntie Janice hunting eggs!

Hana giving Rachel a ride on Tonto. The trails we have behind the house are perfect for the kids to use. There are enough of them to have a good time on but they can be seen at all times from the yard.

Her first popsicle!

Scout filling up her basket.

Scout enjoys the woods. We take hikes now on the trails out back. She can walk up and down hills, over sticks and through the leaves. She does her share of tripping but she just picks herself up, brushes off her hands and off she goes again.

What would we do without Amanda...and we love her boyfriend Mike!

Heading out for a walk. She walked from the time she woke up until she went down for a nap at 5 pm. She is like the Energizer Bunny.

Scout briefing the gang on how to have a succesful egg hunt....she's going to be just like her brother!
Foraging for eggs.

She finally has enough hair that it blows in the wind!!!

If YOU missed the party ths year we hope you will be here next time!!!

Music class

I have written about this class before...it is fabulous! It works so well with Scout's kinesetic learning style. She can run al around during class, there are plenty of movement exercises, instruments to use, scarves and other visual props and varied ages, including the parents participating for the kids to learn from. At home we play music frequently and our instruments are always available to take out. This morning she pulled them out so we shut off the TV, put on som Iggy Marley and rocked out with Daddy before he went to work.
This picture is a little dark but it shows one of the drums that is out at the beginning of each class.

The scarves help the visual learners "see" the beat.

This was a fun time!! One os the songs is about beach balls so the room was filled with them and the kids had a "ball"!!

Such a cutie...
