The BEST daddy

As unbelievable as it seems, Scouts push car was stolen 3 days ago!! It is her favorite toy and we use it everyday to do our chores around the yard. We walked across the street with it to look for snow boots at the church thrift shop. We parked it outside the front door, like we always do. We came out 20 minutes later and it was gone. I still can't believe that someone stole a babies toy car!

I found another one on craigslist yesterday. Daddy was returning from a long travel day, coming home from ND. When he got back to the airport he drove an hour (in the opposite direction from home) to pick up the new push car. He finally returned home at 9:30 last night. This morning we will have one happy girl when we get outside to see the car back outside the door.

Happy Birthday Zach!!!

Zach is 22 today!! We all spent Thanksgiving together at St. Mikes. We cooked for all the fire and rescue kids that stayed at school to respond to calls. It was a really fun and relaxing time. The new fire truck was put in service (Zach chaired the comittee that specked it out and ordered it). They got a car fire on friday and Zach was on the nozzle. Usually I bring fire but he was always away from the station visiting with us. This time he was there for the action. Scout had a great time cruising around the station with her walker. She slept right through her first Thanksgiving dinner but woke up for dessert and ate a whole piece of pumpkin pie.We will back up for Cristmas and are really looking forward to it.

Such a cutie

She couldn't be any cuter!!

Chickens

The chickens are beginning to produce more eggs! We are getting 3-4 each day now. They have their favorite spots. 2 like to use the nesting box, 2 like to use the nest they made on the ground and one likes to go into the barn and make a nest on top of the hay. It will be interesting to see how they do thru the winter. I am working on building a hen house before the snow and winds start flying. As with everything my project completion time is very long with my trusty assistant, baby Scout! She loves the chickens and they are always interested in visiting with her.

Black Mountail hike

We had a rare weekend together...it was wonderful. We were in NH for ski patrol refresher and we had time one morning for a hike up Black mountain. As you can see from the photos the weather was great. Scout loves her backpack we use it all the time. She has a great perspective on the world from that she doesn't get otherwise....she even snoozes in there! Ace had a great time also. Hopefully the snow will fly soon. Opening day is scheduled for December 12.

She's crawling

It finally happened. I was getting ready for work and she was sitting behind me....then I looked back and she was lying on her belly (normal)...then I looked back and she was on her hands and knees right next to me!! She can crawl now...life will never be the same.

New Paint

It took all summer......but it finally got done. Michelle and Scout worked on painting the house all summer. It was slow going, painting, Scout needed a change of scenery, wash out the brush, change a diaper, give a snack, paint again, wash out brush, nap time, paint again......Zach came down for a few days to help with the places that needed the 35 foot ladder. We managed to move it in and out of position. He even commented that my make shift scaffolding was was safest looking "makeshift" he has ever seen me climb on.....He still let me be the one to climb on it! Well, it looks great and it is nice to be able to check something off "the list"
