Scout's first visit to the dentist

Scout had her first visit to the dentist. Of course, she was a very good girl. The dentist said she was a perfect patient, already brushing and taking her flouride every day.

Amanda has taught Scout to give a "high-five" and she is proud to pass them out to anyone that wants one!

She has learned to ride her "indoor pony". She can make it rock and bounce at her command. She is very aware of anything "horse" and "horse stuff" is always her favs.

Still no crawling yet but she thinks she can...she wants to throw herself out of your arms when there is something she sees to get into. She has realized that when standing up she must hold on (she does enjoy letting go to fall backwards, we are supposed to catch her).

Scout still says "Hi", always to the animals, sometimes to people. She has said "Hi Tink (horse)", "Hi kitty" and "Hi Dada".

Scout has 2 teeth now, on the bottom. We never even knew they were coming in because there was no fussiness. She also got a flu shot last month with no crying...she is such a trooper. Scout is always happy, laughing and smiling. We just love everyday with her.

Murph's birthday

Then we went to the fishing pier to watch the seals as the boats came in and have some lunch.

We saw a baby seal!

We had a GREAT day together in Chatham. First we drove to Lighthouse Beach and walked out to the end of the sandbar to see a colony of about 300 seals.

Her trip to Nantucket

Scout enjoyed her first trip to Nantucket over Labor
day weekend. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed the fabulous hospitality of our good friend Ritchie. It was great to finally have a little vacation together before the summer was over. Scout played at children's beach on the playground. She was so proud to be standing up on her own at the "web"...even showing off one-handed. She had a blast beach combing, a friendly seagull followed us up and down the beach.

Little swimmer

Scout just finished her first session of swimming lessons. The last night she learned to sit on the edge of the pool and rock herself until she was "diving" in....over and over and over. She loved the night that we did PFD orieentation, as you will see in the photos. She floated, was lifted out by the handle and fell in (for training purposes) off the edge. She took it all in stride, like everything else!

What a life!

What a lucky girl to be growing up surrounded by all these animals and nature. Scout is so excited whenever she sees animals. She yells out a great big "HIIIII" whenever she sees the horses waiting by the gate or when one of the dogs comes into the room. When ever the horses come out of the paddock she shrieks with delight and holds her hands up waiting for them to come over to the stroller. They will put their nose down for her to touch it. She loves to watch the chickens racing around the yard. When she is sitting on the ground they always come close to her. She is so happy outdoors. We can always tell if she hasn't had any outdoor time...just a little fussy...a trip outside cures it. Last night she helped Daddy cut up some fire wood. She also went for a nice bike ride with Mommy...it was her first one, she finally fits into her helmet. She also did some gardening.

The other big news is that she got her first tooth a few days ago. She loves brushing it.
