Discovery hike

We took advantage of the beautiful weather to check out a new hiking spot in Falmouth.

Scout was happy to get into hiking boots (instead of snow boots) and go out without a coat!

I taught Scout about following trail blazes on this hike. When we got to an intersection she would search for the white blaze and know which trail to follow.

Coming up to an intersection, go left or right.

At this intersection you can go straight or right.

This is a more traditional blaze, left turn at the intersection.

We found lots of interesting things on this hike. Sticks are for walking with...

...or trotting with.

Lots of cool lichen hanging from the branches.

Climbing and jumping.

We found a geocache

fox scat,

and a great blue heron.

Life is good.

See ya on the trail!
